There's something really special about the second Tuesday of every August. On this day each year, for 37 consecutive years . . . the Marion Moose Lodge has hosted “Special Day for Special People. ”The event, held by Moose members and their families, is for disabled individuals . . . and has always been met with rain-free skies. Today was no different.
This was my first one . . . and definitely won't be my last. It makes my heart so very happy to see good folks come together and work so very hard to put a big ole smile on these Special People. And I sure did see a lot of people grinnin' like a skint possum today. It was nothing short of amazing. One of the 10 zillion reasons I love livin' in these old mountains.
