It's been a busy week for KID ROCK. He launched a site supporting his run for a Senate seat in Michigan and now . . . he's released two new songs and the videos to go with 'em. The first track is a rap-rock song called "Greatest Show On Earth" with a video that features clips from live shows throughout Rock's career. It ends with another big ole announcement . . . Kid will head out on the "Greatest Show On Earth Tour" next year.
The other tune has a little country twang . . . it's called "Po-Dunk". Kid's hangin' out with bikini babes shootin' guns . . . and pregnant women smokin' cigarettes.
THE BIG QUESTION! Everyone wants to know if the political run is just a promotional tool . . . but the 46-year-old set everyone straight in a recent post. Here's what Kid said:
Once again the press is wrong. First of all, I’ve got 15 days from my announcement to file paperwork with the FEC! Second, I’m not signed to Warner Bros!!! - which simple fact-checking would have revealed. I have recently worked out a unique deal with BMG, Broken Bow, CAA and Live Nation to release music ON MY TERMS. Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I'm planning on putting out music during mine and IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT. It's not a hoax, it's a strategy and marketing 101! No plans for an album or anything else that has been the usual norm in the music business OR politics.
