Ashley McBryde “can’t write love songs.”
The award-winning singer-songwriter posted a video on her social media pages on Thursday afternoon (May 30), playing an acoustic rendition of “Andy (I Can’t Live Without You).” It’s one of 6 tracks on McBryde’s new EP, Meet The Family, which made its debut on Wednesday (May 29). After singing “Andy (I Can’t Live Without You),” a heartfelt ballad, McBryde said, “this is why I don’t write love songs. That was just about my friend. My roommate. This is why I can’t write love songs.”

“I can’t wait to tell you more about each version of myself and what makes me….me. The Meet The Family collection is out everywhere, and you’ll be hearing from each of these ladies over the next several weeks. Who are you most excited to meet?” McBryde wrote in a caption on Instagram on Wednesday morning. She introduced the different versions of herself, representing each side of her personality. They included “Blackout Betty,” “Joan of Arkansas” and others. McBryde’s EP also includes “Martha Divine,” “Livin’ Next to Leroy,” “Velvet Red,” “Shut Up Sheila” and “The Devil I Know.”
