They went to the same college, and it was Church's Carolina album that turned Combs on to country music. When Luke got the chance to meet his idol, the country newcomer took in every word.
“He said, ‘Just remember that, you know, it’s about the music at the end of the day.’ And that’s something that I’ve kind of always believed. Be about the fan. A solid onstage performance can take you a lot farther than how cool you look in a picture. I think that, for me, is something that I got from him, for sure.”
