Jelly Roll made a surprise appearance on the first night of CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Grammy-winning artist surprised thousands festival goers when he unexpectedly took the stage at Nissan Stadium on Thursday night (June 4). Jelly Roll said as the audience cheered, “it feels good to be home, Nashville!” He went on to deliver high-energy renditions of some of his biggest hits, a cover by late DJ Avicii (2013’s “Wake Me Up”), faith-fueled moments and more. His set included “Need A Favor,” “Amen,” “Liar,” and other fan-favorites.
Jelly Roll was one of several surprises on Thursday night, along with Florida Georgia Line’s reunion and collaborative performances. Other artists taking the main stage throughout the weekend include Bailey Zimmerman, Blake Shelton, Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson, Deana Carter, Ella Langley, Gretchen Wilson, HARDY, Jason Aldean, Jordan Davis, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, The Red Clay Strays, Riley Green, Russell Dickerson, Shaboozey, Tim McGraw, Tucker Wetmore and Zach Top, among others. CMA Fest, the longest-running country music festival int he world, kicked off Thursday and runs through Sunday (June 7). Riley Green and Lara Spencer will host the televised special, which will air on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on Thursday, June 25. The show will be available to stream the following day on Hulu.
