Darius Rucker was reportedly arrested on misdemeanor charges in Williamson County, Tennessee, just outside Nashville.
Rucker was taken into custody around midday on Thursday (February 1), and is no longer in custody. Heās accused of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and a violation for allegedly driving with expired registration, TMZ was first to report. Ruckerās attorney, Mark Puryear, added in a statement to the celebrity news hub: āDarius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges.ā
A representative with the Williamson County Sheriffās Department confirmed to iHeartRadio via email that Rucker, 57, was charged with two counts of Simple Possession / Casual Exchange and one count of Violation of Registration Law with a bond at $10,500. He was released Thursday.
Rucker, also known for his solo work, previously announced that heās āgetting back on the roadā with Hootie & the Blowfish this year. The band is reuniting on the āSummer Camp With Trucks Tour,āĀ set to begin in late May and running into September.
