Darius Rucker was reportedly arrested on misdemeanor charges in Williamson County, Tennessee, just outside Nashville.

Rucker was taken into custody around midday on Thursday (February 1), and is no longer in custody. He’s accused of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and a violation for allegedly driving with expired registration, TMZ was first to report. Rucker’s attorney, Mark Puryear, added in a statement to the celebrity news hub: “Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges.”

A representative with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to iHeartRadio via email that Rucker, 57, was charged with two counts of Simple Possession / Casual Exchange and one count of Violation of Registration Law with a bond at $10,500. He was released Thursday.

Rucker, also known for his solo work, previously announced that he’s “getting back on the road” with Hootie & the Blowfish this year. The band is reuniting on the “Summer Camp With Trucks Tour,” set to begin in late May and running into September.
