One Dead, One Injured In Buncombe Shooting
(Barnardsville, NC) -- Investigators are looking into a deadly shooting in Buncombe County. One person died and another was injured in a shooting on Saturday morning in a home in Barnardsville. Sheriff's investigators haven't said if any charges will be filed. Both of the people involved knew each other.
Suspect Wanted In Armed Bank Robbery
(Brevard, NC) -- Brevard police are looking for the suspect in a bank robbery. Investigators say a man got away with some money after entering a First Bank location armed with a gun on Friday. Surveillance footage shows the man wearing a camouflage jacket and face covering inside the bank. There's been no word about a potential getaway car.
Arboretum's Winter Lights To Be Drive-Thru
(Asheville, NC) -- The North Carolina Arboretum Winter Lights display in Asheville will have a slightly different look this year. Organizers are restricting the experience this season to be drive-thru only due to concerns over COVID-19. Unique exhibits will be set up and on display beginning November 20th. Another Republican Congressman, Ted Budd, tweeted that fraud must be investigated and exposed. Neither man gave any specific instances.
Teen Shot Dead In NE Charlotte
(Charlotte, NC) -- The CMPD is looking for suspects in the death of a teen. Officers found a 16-year-old boy shot to death on North Tryon Street in northeast Charlotte on Saturday night. The homicide marked Charlotte's third in four days and 104th of the year.
Body Found After Standoff
(York County, SC) -- York County deputies are investigating the discovery of a body near the site of a standoff. A trespassing suspect shot and injured a deputy before refusing to come out of his Rock Hill home for more than four hours on Saturday morning. Negotiators convinced him to leave the home without any further conflict. It was around that time that investigators discovered a body in the man's backyard. There's no word on any charges right now.
Kings Mountain Hunter Found Dead In South Carolina
(Union County, NC) -- The search for a missing hunter from Kings Mountain is over. Crews found John Michael Houser dead early Sunday afternoon outside of Jonesville, South Carolina. The search began on Saturday night, but it was postponed due to terrain and nightfall. There is no word on how Houser died.

Helicopter Goes Down Near State Trooper Headquarters In Raleigh
(Raleigh, NC) -- The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash of a helicopter Sunday in Raleigh near the training center of the North Carolina Highway Patrol. The chopper, belonging to the state agency, went down about 2:15 p.m. near the intersection of Garner Road and East Tyson Road. The pilot managed to land without hitting any homes or vehicles in the area. However, the blades struck several trees, causing the aircraft to be a total loss. The pilot was not injured.
Teenager Killed In Drive-By Shooting In Durham
(Durham, NC) -- Police in Durham are investigating a Sunday morning drive-by shooting that resulted in one male teenager being killed. It happened around 10:20 a.m. in the 900 block of East Main Street about a block away from the Durham Police Department. Witnesses confirmed the shots were fired from a moving car. The victim, who had multiple gunshot wounds, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Wake County Middle School Students Return To Classes Today
(Wake County, NC) -- Some six-thousand Wake County middle school students are set to return for in-person classes today. School officials say everyone entering a District school building must be screened and wear a mask. The students will return on a three week rotation model. Juvenile Shot During Burglary Attempt In Winston-Salem
(Winston-Salem, NC) -- An investigation is ongoing in Winston-Salem where a man shot a juvenile who attempted to break into his home. It happened early Sunday morning in the 15-hundred-block of Gaston Street. The man tells police the juvenile and a second suspect flashed their weapons before he fired his. The juvenile was shot and was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition. The second suspect took off.
High Point Theatre Reopens
(High Point, NC) -- The High Point Theatre is slowly reopening after the coronavirus pandemic forced it to shut-down eight months ago. Director of the downtown city-owned theater David Briggs tells the News & Review they're "squeaking the door open a bit." He says they'd been getting over a dozen calls a day, asking when they're reopening. The theater hosted a free concert by the High Point University Community Orchestra yesterday and will host a free concert again today.

Salvation Army Kicking Off Its Red Kettle Campaign Early
