City of Asheville to reopen offices to the public Oct. 12

On Oct. 12, the City of Asheville will re-open its public-facing offices. This decision is the result of significant planning, consulting with public health officials, and implementing COVID-19 transmission mitigation efforts.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, City staff has continued to provide a majority of services, although modified, such as drop boxes for transactions traditionally handled in-person and virtual meetings to allow for social distancing.

The City will continue to offer these alternative means of accessing services, and the public is encouraged to continue to use online services and in a manner that allows for social distancing. However, if residents need or want to access City offices, they will soon be able to do so in a modified capacity.

The safety of the public and our employees is a top priority as we transition to this next phase of operating. Below you will find a list of safety procedures in place to help keep residents and employees safe.
