More than 1.2 million voters in North Carolina have requested absentee ballots for the upcoming election, and state and local elections officials are working to make sure that when ballots are returned, they are filled out properly.
Haywood County’s Elections Board met Tuesday today, looking for possible ballot mistakes.
It has already processed thousands of absentee ballots and expects thousands more to come in because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was the second elections board meeting dealing with absentee ballots.
