Ticket agency's $11,000 check to Asheville charity bounces

A local charity said it is out about $11,000 after a ticket agency refuses to pay it for tickets sold for an event

Carolina Resource Center for Eating Disorders, an Asheville nonprofit, did a February conference and used Brown Paper Tickets to handle ticket sales.

The nonprofit got a check from Brown Paper Tickets for the $11,000 but it bounced.

Brown Paper Tickets is facing legal action from other organizations nationwide.

"They’ve stolen the money of little nonprofits across the country. I mean, it’s seven months now that they’ve had our money, and it’s a tenth of our budget," Carolina Resource Center for Eating Disorders' Mary Everist said.
