Is Weezer Playing the Season Finale of 'Saturday Night Live'?

Last month, Saturday Night Live aired a sketch devoted to Weezer that finds Matt Damon, a ride or die fan, arguing with Leslie Jones, a "purist" who strictly loves the Blue Album and Pinkerton but thinks everything else "is pretty corny." The band got a kick out of the skit and singer Rivers Cuomo had a bit of a freak out moment while expressing his excitement about it. Now, a fan's giving the show's writers an idea on how to end Season 44.

"Hey @nbcsnl not for nuttin you should book @Weezer for the season finale of #snl and have Matt Damon and @Lesdoggg finish their legendary debate," the fan suggested, and Jones was impressed.

"That’s actually a good idea dude," she replied.

The band also caught wind of the tweet and is all in. "Challenge accepted to make @Lesdoggg #RideOrDie," they wrote.

We'll have to wait until the Spring to see if the plan comes to fruition, but with Weezer recently releasing their Teal Album of covers and gearing up to release the Black Album in March, the timing honestly couldn't be better.

Check out the Twitter interaction below.

Weezer's cover of "Africa" is up for an iHeartRadio Music Award this year for "Best Alternative Song of the Year." Find out who will be taking home an award this year by tuning into FOX on March 14th where the show will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles from 8-10pm ET/PT.
