Asheville Primary Election Results

With 41 of 41 precincts reporting...Asheville primary results are in!

In the Mayoral race, current city mayor Esther Manheimer finished in the top spot with 8,488 votes (77%). Manheimer was followed by Martin Ramsey, who picked up 1,719 votes (15.60 percent). 

Jonathan Wainscott managed 531 votes (4.82 percent), and Jonathan Austin Glover received 278 votes (2.52 percent).

In the City Council races, Vijay Kapoor was on the top of the heap with 5,637 (17.64 percent), Sheneika E. Smith picked up 4,102 votes (12.84 percent) and vice mayor Gwen Wisler took 3,614 votes (11.31 percent). 

Dee Williams had 3,408 (10.67 percent), Rich Lee was next with 3,182 votes (9.96 percent) and Kim Roney was sixth with 3,172 votes (9.93 percent). 

Those six candidates advance to the general election in November

Current city councilman Cecil Bothwell received 3,066 votes (9.60 percent) and did not qualify for the general election.
