Country Couple Say A Hardship Is A Calling From God

The country duo of Joey and Rory who sang "Cheater, Cheater" and have penned many other country hits were given the gift of little baby girl, Indiana Boon in February.  Sadly little Indiana has been diagnosed with Downs Syndrome, a challenge that typically hits most parents hard.  But the Godly country couple look at the challenges ahead as a calling from God.

Rory (the father) posted on his blog, "Although that news came at first as a surprise to us, Joey and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. During the pregnancy, we never did an ultrasound, or saw a doctor, nor would it have made any difference if we had. We trusted that God would give us the baby He wanted us to have… and He has. Out of all the parents in the world, He has chosen us to care for and raise this special gift."

I once had the chance to enjoy a meal with Joey and Rory and they impressed me as some of the kindest and most Godly folks you'll ever meet.  They took the time to contact my wife Ruby the day after our son, Christian, was born to say congratulations.  They had only met us once but wanted to make sure we knew they were excited for us and praying for our family.  They are awesome folks.

Meanwhile, Joey and Rory are going to put their music careers aside to take care of their daughter together.  Now I'm not one to speak for God...but I am sure Rory is right...who better to love this special little girl than these two. They will show her a life full of love and compassion I am sure.  If you get a chance tonight, please say a prayer for them and their family.
